ADHD is NOT
a disorder!
Welcome to a portal that synthesizes research on the social construction of "neurodivergence" in the United States and ultimately advocates for valuing neurodiversity, a stark contrast to contemporary education systems that privilege Eurocentric "ways of knowing" and push neurotypical conformity. While we advocate for the celebration and acceptance of all who society has labeled "neurodivergent," our main mission is to spread awareness of the dangers of prescription stimulant use to treat children and adolescents, and offer further resources that can help parents find safer alternatives to help each child excel in social systems that force conformity.

Neurodivergence is not simply a property of the brain, but a relationship between brain and environment. The contemporary American societal expectation is for individuals to be bimodally categorized into "neurotypical" and "neurodivergent," but the question should never be, "What is wrong with this student?"
Instead, we need to begin asking, "What is wrong with this system?"
The Social Construction of Neurodivergence
A child is only "deficient" relative to an environment that was never designed for them. Change the environment and the same mind becomes capable.
The Colonial Architecture of "Normal"
The colonial, standardized classroom was engineered to produce uniform, governable minds, treating any cognitive difference as deviance to be corrected.
From Pathology to Pluralism
Equitable accommodation redesigns the default environment to hold cognitive diversity as the norm rather than the exception.
The Advocate's Role in Systemic Change
Individual plans help one child, but systemic change across educational institutions helps every child after them.
